So this is by far the brightest branding I’ve ever done, and perhaps the most fun! The City Church Mississauga was looking to add some life to the white walls of their kid’s section, as well as update all of their corresponding items, such as their main brochure, welcome bag, signage and labels. The children’s directors wanted a bright, fun colour palette, and patterns that created a sense of movement, especially on the white walls. I came up with a very bright colour palette of hot pink and sunshine yellow, paired with turquoise and mint. Love, love love these colours together! I designed all of the lettering with a black outline to help it stand out, and then did a “sprinkle” pattern in solid black to match, and add contrast to the colour triangles. The other pattern, the square outlines, reminds me of ice cubes 🙂 It also adds a lot of movement to the designs.
First I designed the decals for the walls. The kid’s area is a large space with a big foyer area, and 4 different classrooms with lots of big windows and natural light. I included three different “photo walls” with fun sayings so the kids could pose underneath them. For privacy reasons I’m not showing any pics of kids in my photos, only me! But I can ensure you that the kids look absolutely adorable posing under each area.
After the decals were designed, I designed all of the corresponding items. I especially love the main brochure, pictured below. It turned out so fun and bright!
Let me know what you think in the comments below! And if you’re looking for an awesome, kid-friendly church, The City Church has services every Sunday at 9 and 11am 🙂 You can check out these photo walls in person!
